This month brings a range of new features and changes, delivered remotely from the HubSpot team.

Let’s get started.

Clone If/Then Branches

Adding multiple branch conditions to workflows is a great way to create better customer experiences. Until now, the process has been purely manual, which has required lots of work.

With this latest update, however, it now just takes a few clicks. This could be a huge time saver for teams and also provide more control over which criteria get evaluated and when. It’s coming live to all professional and enterprise accounts.

Google Doc Imports

For many of us, it feels easier to draft content in Google Docs and then copy it into the HubSpot editor, instead of doing the whole thing in HubSpot.

In the past, that was a challenge, because transferring the content into HubSpot was tricky and usually meant formatting the document twice.

With this new update, it’s now easier to important blog posts into HS from Google Docs. It can be done within the inline editor, and all the formatting will be auto transferred to HS blog editor. That includes things like font, text size, line spacing, images, tables, and much more.

Activity Logs

Activity logs help your team keep track of all the activity across all your websites.

Now, activity logs are added directly into the account default settings for CMS hub enterprise customers. You can quickly export an easy-to-digest report which shows all changes made to a website, with everything centralised into a single file.

It’s easy to quickly identify all changes, when they happened, and who made them, giving you a clearer and more complete picture of what’s happening with all your sites.

Hide SEO Recommendations

HubSpot’s SEO tool now comes with the option to hide any of the suggested recommendations, allowing your team to focus their energy solely on the relevant optimisations.

If you prevented a page from appearing in Google search results, you can now hide any suggested SEO recommendations for those pages.

ABM Slack Updates

Slack is an incredibly common tool, used by all kinds of business as their main or even sole communication channel.

Back in May, HubSpot introduced new account-based collaboration features to their build integration with Slack. Now, they’re bringing more functionality to the integration, helping teams stay in sync with each other around account-specific opportunities.

For example, you can now post a notification to a Slack channel associated with the target account in HubSpot. You can notify a team when a call has occurred, or use a specific HubSpot buying committee command to share relevant committee buyer information in the right Slack channels.

The features are now live and available to all sales and marketing professional and enterprise users. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • You can create a Slack channel with deal/company workflows
  • You can regularly post important KPIs using the reports command
  • You can easily write notes to and from your Slack channel

Google Campaign Management in Ads

Marketing hub customers can now manage even more of their Google Ad campaigns in HubSpot.

  • Extend successful campaigns without leaving HubSpot
  • Edit campaign names and budgets
  • Add new keywords
  • Pause or enable campaigns, ad groups, and keywords

Retiring the Competitors Tool

On 31 August, the Competitors tool will be retired for all portals.

Why is HubSpot doing this? According to their update, the data being delivered by the tool just wasn’t up to their high standards. They consider it better to focus energy on the most accurate and actionable data.

On top of that, usage of the tool has been low and going down, with very few portals actively using it. HubSpot says they want you to focus on the tools you value the most, with the biggest overall benefit.

File Properties for Tickets

Tickets now have user-defined file properties. This means you can now create file upload properties for tickets and place them on your forms.

Customers can also fill out properties during form submission, providing necessary information that will help you solve their issues and deliver a better experience.

This latest batch of updates will hopefully make life much easier for HubSpot users and their customers, eliminating some features that haven’t quite been up to the task and introducing some promising new tools.
